You may recall my questions about adding battery capacity http://cpyoa.geekworkshosting.com/forum/index.php?topic=7715.msg56731#msg56731
I decided to go ahead with the plan to add a 3rd battery.  one group 24 is the starting battery, two group 27 deep cycles for running everything else.
I have no problem running down one over the course of a couple days, with  burning anchor lights, nav lights, reading lights, etc - even with LED bulbs.
Here are some pictures of installing the 3rd battery.

I added a new battery box sized for group 27-31 batteries on the floor behind the engine on the starboard side.  Just the right amount of space to fit one there and I'm not losing storage space.   I had to make a support because the floor is angled, and decided to tie it down with 3 clamps on the strap vs two.
All of the batteries were fused with 200amp ANL fuses right at the + battery terminal.  There is 9.5 feet of battery cable from the new location back to the old battery compartment area.
I added a 2nd battery switch.  The main switch has 1/2 as the cranking/house batteries.  Postion 2 feeds to the second new switch which is relabeld 2A and 2B
2A being the original deep cycle and 2B is the new one.  Thus all can be isolated or connected for starting or charging from the engine individually or in combinations.
The battery and box are installed but the final tie in and battery charger connections are not made yet.  Hopefully more pics and progress this weekend.
