After reading my Burgess 'Handbook of Trailersailing', I now wonder if more good info is available in the handbook.  Specifically does it cover sailing tips, rigging and line sizes, suggested upgrades,  in short, is it worth the purchase?

HenryC

Yes.  It is worth it.

Burgess doesn't write specifically for Com-Pac owners, but he writes about the type of sailing Com-Pac owners do, and he does mention the 16 and 19 quite a bit because he's owned both.  You can't go wrong.

But if you're really interested in tuning tips for your Com-Pac, this forum is the right place.

Mike,

If you're referring to the Owners' Manual available from Com-pac, you may not need it, but it's nice to have. IMHO

I too own a 19, and have both the burgess book (that I still need to whole heartedly read...) and the manual that came with the boat from the original owners.
I did and do find the manual useful, if not just to refresh my mind or to reference stuff. It is especially helpful for the wiring diagram. I enjoy having the owners manuals to my things, including my drills..... which is a manual I dont really need, but hey, I have it......

I dont think you could go wrong having both especially being on the forum as well. As many points of information you can have at your fingertips the better it will be.

I just asked Hutchins if there was an owner's manual for my 1995 CP25.  Gerry sent a PDF file of the manual in an hour or less.  It's nice to have the manual, but it's pretty basic.  Wiring diagrams most useful as well as original set up info.  I bet there's one for the 19 as well.
