How diffuclut would it be to find a upper piece of the rudder assembley?  And about what would it cost.  My CP16 is a 1979.
Has anyone tried different type sail plan on a 16?

Thank you, blessings, 'J'ene  ;-)

Are you missing the rudder head and the bracket that attaches to the transom?
The rudder assembly on the 2011 Hutchins parts list was $661.
Ruddercraft.com lists the assembly for the 16 at $479. I believe this is the rudder head and foiled blade but not the transom bracket.
If you have the transom bracket, the Ruddercraft assembly would be quite a positive upgrade.
You might call Hutchins at 727-443-4408 and discuss the parts you need.

If you search CP-16 sail plan on this site, you may find some info. The main change to the 16 was adding the sprit in later models, about 1985, and changing to a 7/8 fractional rig. You will find various discussions about head sails and furlers.

Hope this helps.

Wasn't somebody parted out a CP-16 ? Not too long ago ?
Might be an aluminum casting still stuck on the stern.
Grind the 4~1/4 inch bolt heads off and knock off.

And yes there are Cp-16's out there with short [even more] stubby masts with a gaff rig set-up.
