Yup! I second Tim's suggestion. I use those same thingees to fly Pegasus' colors from the topping lift. See no reason why it wouldn't work on the spreaders.  I assume (dangerous word) that you mean one of the shrouds. I plan to fly my burgee from the bow rail just like my dad did on his '59 Chris Craft Cavalier, a real sweet cruiser even if it was a stinkpot.  ;D
