obviously not good for underwater repair like some epoxies

i don't know, the video shows it being applied to a water pipe under pressure.

how sticky is it?  don't know. 

it may only adhere to itself.

i don't think it would be strong enough to repair a boom or even a spreader.

i'll keep it aboard if the tiller breaks or a hole is punched through the o/b's lower unit.

My comment is based on the instructions "wrap tight, remove excess water...".  Underwater it would be hard to do.  Might be OK if put on out of the water - let us know
