I am in touch with Loadmaster trailers in Port Clinton OH..  time to buy a trailer for the boat.  They have done  compac 19 trailers, but not a 23, and they need measurements.    Just on the off chance, I thought that I would check to see if anyone with a 23  is nearby  and willing to have one of their employees take measurements..    thanks!   jt

Can you give us the contact info for them? I have pondered having a trailer made if we keep the boat for a long time, and this way I could see whereabouts the cost is for a cp 19 trailer.

Thanks

Hi Mac,
  here is the website   http://www.loadmastertrailerco.com/

the phone number is at the upper right..   I have been in contact with Diane Straw..  and her daughter as well..   sounds like a family business, and very nice folks..    the truth is that the trailer is going to cost more than  my 83 compac is worth, but   I plan on holding on to the boat for the long term, so it will  pay for itself in two years compared to the  3k or so it costs to keep it at the marina for a year..     I  have been looking for a long time, and all of the appropriate trailers are in the 4800-5200  price range..  of course, I am looking for something that is perhaps a bit over sized, and I asked for all stainless hardware and for the trailer to be galvanized..    I am sure that the price for a 19 will be less, maybe considerably so..

I have been reading some financial opinions, and one piece of advice that really sticks out is that  we should consider the 10 year impact of every decision that we make..  ( of course, the guy also suggests forgetting buying a boat :)  )     if i keep the boat for  10 years..  i come out  25k ahead..   :)

JT,

I have a ComPac23 at Alum Creek Lake in Lewis Center, OH.  The trailer is in storage if you'd like to check it out.  Lewis Center is just north of Columbus, OH.

thanks Joe!   I will be talking with the trailer folks sometime today and let them know..    probably heading out there sometime at the end of June to pick it up..   a very long time ago, my aunt and uncle lived in Columbus..  I seem to remember a trip out there to visit them, but I was pretty young at the time..   We took a trip out last year to  visit Lehman's Hardware  in Kidron -  that was pretty cool..   so another trip west of the PA border should be fun...   jt

What's that you say Citi?  A CP23 on Alum Creek?

I'm over on Hoover in Westerville at Red Bank marina on a CP19.
Another member here on a CP19 is at the Alum Creek Sail Marina this year too.  You've probably seen the boat and maybe even met Bill.

Let me know if you want to get together sometime to check out each others' boats or just to grab a beer sometime.

Sounds good.  I just bought my ComPac23 last May, but I've been sailing at Alum for many years.  My first boat was a Chrylser Buccaneer (sailed at Hoover), next a Precision 23, then a Colgate 26, now the ComPac23.  I must be getting older, right!

Yes, I've seen the CP19 at Alum Creek Sail Marina.  As a matter of fact he's parked just down from my slip.  I've not met the owner yet, but from the looks of the boat, he's done a lot of work on it.  It really looks great.

A beer and an inspection tour sounds  great.  My personal email is jburns13 at wowway dot com.
