Just purchased 1996 # 166, looking forward to sailing Gulf of Mexico around Clearwater, Tampa. Moving down from a plastic H34 to a proper sail boat! Will be moving boat down from NC to her home waters in April.. Hope to hear from other owners.

Good, then you can join us (all Com-Pac Boat Owners) for the 2014 Florida Com-Pac Rendezvous at Caledesi - Anclote Islands, 5 - 9 May, 2014. That's right in your NEW back yard!

Look for additional details in the Group Outings and Com-Pac Events Forum.

Caledesi Island State park is 2.5 n. miles from our slip! will be there for sure . Are volunteers needed for anything? Would be willing to assist with whatever.

capt_nemo

Don't know yet.

Stay tuned as I recommended - guy named crazycarl from up north is behind it with several in the local area supporting.

Read the "2014 Florida Get Together" Thread under the "Group Outings ..." Forum to get a feel for where we are in the process.

Well... since you asked.  I'll take a page from Bob23's book and welcome you to our "family" by forgoing the usual admittance fee and let you, with what will undoubtedly be the largest Compac at the gathering, bring all the ice, rum, mixers, beach chairs, ribs, chickens, porterhouses, lobsters, shrimp, firewood, stereo, hot tub, and what ever "essentials" we may need/want.   ;D

Seriously, I'm very happy your planning on being there.

See you there!   C.C.

When you guys say Caledesi Island, are you talking about the Caledesi Island State Park Marina?

capt_nemo

YES.

Most agreed that starting/gathering there would provide the best opportunity for folks to meet one another, conveniently look at and talk about other boats, socialize a bit, and work out the cruising plan for the rest of the Rendezvous.

Several Owners attending are from that area and should provide valuable "local knowledge" in forming a cruising plan.
