Bought 78 cp 16. New to sailing ,but sailed some with friends and just had to try it. Planning on taking class in oct. Anyway the 16 was neglected, previous owner died a year ago. Boat was purchased thru family and moved to my place. Just got into cabin(full of critters) only to find significant repair on port side wall and ceiling. The repair is good and sturdy everywhere but cutback below portside windows long crack mismatched sides by about eighth inch and supported by 1x3  2 feet long held by wood screws.. should i leave it or go for removal of support and repair? Trying to get photobucket pics..... anyway till then i'm afraid if I remove  brace it might give. Also outside is perfect, no ripples or rough areas on hull or deck????& cant figure why there is no evidence of repair outside. Did have fiberglass place tell me it is not covered in gelcoat. Any ideas.. thanks
