Would love to see those beauties up close and personal. But alas, I'm too far away in SW Florida to enjoy their majestic presence.

For all who can - enjoy!

We bought a ride on the 3 masted centerboard schooner, S/V Denis L. Sulivan. Our neighbor, Tim Graul, was the Naval Architect of this vessel built in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Modern regulations required a keel and compartments, no centerboard.
While in the Golf a while back she had a hole punched in her hull during an attempt to rescue a fishing boat and crew in distress.

And at another time I sailed through the two bridges in town with a tall ship. I think it was the S.V. Roseway. That was a blast.!

Bare in mind that the Bounty is on the bottom with loss of life from Storm Sandy. I'm thinking poor seamanship...she broached and rolled. Should not have been where she was in the first place.

In facebook find, under 'Photos 16' then 'Albums', the album named-->'Tall Ships in S.B. & G.B.'

Referenced 'below the fold' on every one of my posts.

They left Bay City about three weeks ago.We spent two days touring them.We only planned on one day but had to go back one more day to finish. My advice is to plan on at least a couple days. We're on the northern end of Saginaw Bay,so we watched them pass by.Even had three overnight right here. The event was well organized and priced reasonably, thanks to the sponsors and many volunteers.Highly recommend it........Doug

One of these tall ships is not going to port in Green Bay because it damaged it's bow sprit according to channel 2 news, WBAY.
