Great, Jason:
Any photos? I haven't tried to row my 23 as I sail in tidal waters. I really don't even use the motor all that much...I try to sail on and off my mooring whenever possible and safe.

Yesterday I installed a set of oarlocks on the top of the cockpit combings.

I decided to try that mounting location because the top surface of the combing is angled so that the oars will have a better working angle than if the oar locks were mounted on a horizontal surface.

It was actually fairly easy to do - after I removed the foam (that was the hot and tedious work).

I used a 3/4" hole saw to cut a hole for the barrel part of the oar lock and then drilled some smaller holes for the fasteners.

Then I used the same hole saw and drill bit to make aluminum backing plates out of some 1 1/2" x 1/4" flat stock I had in my junk pail.

The oar locks look good and they are very strong so I'll try to get out next week to try them out.
