Well L&G's,

The admiral has finally done it!  While walking a slim plank to the shore's edge, the wench slipped, rolled, a pop was heard; and alas, an ankle was broken.

Yep - on Christmas day at 1500 hrs, she broke the booger.  A true sailor, she ate roasted oysters, tossed back a few pain killers, and weathered the storm till morning, the day after Christmas to go to the local blood lettin' Docs.

She has given me orders to carry on.  Boy! is she heavy! (course, she's not my brother).

More later as the tale unfolds.

Sorry to hear that Tim but she sounds like a trooper. Some people really know how to have fun and sounds like she's one of 'em. And on Christmas day, no less! Hope she's on the mend...sailing season's around the corner!
A few years ago when my Admiral Linda broke her foot walking the dog, it bacame my job to do the food shopping. I was not prepared to do battle with coupon-clutching, sale-hunting and cart-racing housewives! Forget about the Marines...you want something done? Get a woman on a mission in the grocery store. What took her 45 minutes took me 2 1/2 hours. Of course I did stop to gab with everyone I knew that I bumped into. She finally got disgusted and demanded we both go and I push the cart. What an experience! I hope she never breaks her foot again!
I'm sure you'll be the helpful, kind and sypathetic guy that we all know....

Well,

Six weeks have passed since the Admiral became known as Peg Leg.  Went to the doctor yesterday, and reports are the ankle is healing fine, but she must wear a "Mini-Peg" walking ankle boot for another 8 weeks.

But, she will be able to bark commands from the tiller with this less cumbersome device, so we're back on the High (lake) Seas!

"Cast off the Stern lines!! Cast off the Bow lines!!  Heck, Just Cast Off the leg is fine!!"

Glad to hear she is on the mend.   Bring on the sailing season!
