going to refinish my teak pcs, would like to remove them first, everyone talks about replacing the screw plugs, when reinstalling, what and how do you do this ?

The screws are recessed or countersunk into the wood to hide the metal.  After the screw or bolts are installed you put wooden plugs into the holes to hide the opening.  You can make your own with a plug cutter or just buy a bag of them from West Marine or any online parts house.  They are pretty cheap even in teak.

Greene has it right,

Cheap little teak plugs and some are different sizes, but not too many to select from.

First you drill them out, using a 1/8 inch drill bit, right in the center.

Get to your hardware, do what you need, then when replacing, just hammer the new one in gently, and sand it to match profile.
I used to use a chisel to get it close before smoothing, but anymore, powered sanders eliminate the possibility or splitting one with a chisel.
Teak is a soft wood and typically doesnt split, but Red Oak, and a few others I have had issue.
