Don't feel bad.  We have double secret-encoded-crossword puzzled-encrypted-hush hush- password-mystical magic web stuff protected our site to baffle and confuse any and all potential photo posters.

Actually it isn't too bad. (Bob does it!) Just copy the http code and paste it into the field on the form.   The pic does need to reside in a photo hosting site such as Photobucket though.  When you post a pic into one of you posts, just copy the img code instead.

Maybe our hardworking admins could just sticky this subject and drop in some of the best examples of the instruction there for the new folks to easily find.

Mike

ps.  Thanks to the admins for all your behind the scenes work.

Jeff:
Mike is right. If I can do it...anyone can! I've even caught my dog loading photos onto the site. Shame of it is..she learned before me! Here's a picture of her right after I caught her posting on this site...notice the smug look! What a beast!

There is a nice Tutorial Tim Gardner wrote here:

http://cpyoa.geekworkshosting.com/forum/index.php?topic=3763.0

There is even an account setup to login and add them if you don't want to start your own.

Basic concept is upload your picture to a free photo hosting site, then link to it here.  Whether in your profile or on posts.

Only caveot is the screen shots are outdated.  Not because it's an old article, photobucket likes to change the "look and feel" of their website about every 19.73 days so it's tough to keep up.

But the concept is the same..with any computer skills at all should be able to figure it out.  If not, let us know where you're stuck.

As Greene mentioned, the key for the profile picture is to copy (from the photosite you choose) and paste (into where it asks for your profile picture) by using the http: code only.   For pictures, you can copy the "image code" and just paste it into a post.

Jeff...
I like your quote from my favorite Robert Frost poem. I first read that as a kid when my grandmother turned my on to Robert Frost. It always made sense to me...might explain why I enjoy taking the roads less travelled.
