Whilst out rowing the Alden today, what did I spy but an older Compac 23 tied to the bulkhead at the Dutchmans Restaurant near Long Beach Island, NJ. Is that anyone here? If so, howdy! You were practically in view of the mighty Koinoina (1985 23/2) who is moored at Harry's Cove in Surf City. Harry's Cove is not the real name but the name I chose to honor my friend Harry who lived across the street for many years but moved upstairs a few years ago.
For those unfamiliar with Dutchmans, it's a great German restaurant/bar with some really nice German beer and the best onion soup in the Northern Hemispere. (I tasted an equal in Rio a number of years ago, but that's another story for another time.) If you ever come down to my waters, we'll go there. Onion soup and a Weis beer or two and all's right with the world!
So, mystery 23: who are you?
