Cockpit Table?

I need to devise one for my 23.  Anyone make one they are proud of and can share.  I want one that will fold up and store flat in a cockpit seat locker, can be mounted aft in the cockpit so it does not block the companionway and is close to the grill mounting location.  Preferably one I can use in the cabin too.  Light and easy to clean.

Seems to me I saw one in Practical Sailor that straddled the tiller and had a couple of hinged drop down cleats that gave both lateral locking and vertical support.  Might fool around with that idea but any thoughts welcome.

Well, this might not be what you're looking for, but on our old CP16 I made a simple table.
It was just 1/2" plywood about 1 1/2" wider then the footwell (beam) and about 11" wide (bow to stern).  Along the underside were two thin strips of wood  that acted as keepers for the ply, you just placed the table between the footwell and it would not slide as the keepers were lower than the fiberglass lip.  Cut out two 4" holes and weaved a beverage netting stapled to the bottom.  This design avoids extra can holders and allows it store flat, can be put anywhere along the cockpit footwell and didn't cost me anything (already had the items lying around).

I've been meaning to make another but just have not got around to it. Would go a tad wider next time.

Another idea is that gas compartment lid you were going to make.  Fold out or slide out table there would be pretty nice.  I'm making a Sunbrella snap on mainsheet and bubba keg bag this week to mount on the forward facing portion of the gas lid.  Highly considering placing a 1/2" ply hinged to the lid as a mounted fold out (just unsnap sheet bag from ply and fold up/install leg) but haven't made up my mind yet.

Brack:
My solution is a small, cheap, folding table that I found somewhere...can't remember where. It certainly is not elegant nor was intended as a permanent table but it works in the cockpit, the cabin and folds flat. Here is a photo of it supporting a bottle of the official Tequila of Koinoia:

Not a great shot, I'll admit, but it's all I have.  You might find this at WallyWorld, Target or a yard sale.

Salty, good ideas but I need it to be high enough to get my knees under.

Bob, a good practical solution but I think with a little of that tequila I wouldn't care what kind of table I have.:)

Why not use the companionway drop board? With a clever bracket?

Skip, have you seen Brack's drop board? It is way too nice to be used as a table. But I do think that is a great idea.

Now you got me thinking......

On a CP 19, I noticed the width of the center cushion and the width of the cockpit sole were very close to each other so I made a lap board type table that can be used in the cabin or cockpit or even as a lap board.  I put some pins on the bottom to keep it from sliding side to side and fiddles on the top to keep items from falling off.  The surface of the table is two pieces of teak parquet flooring so it blends welll with the other teak on the boat.
