swivel block with clam cleat for mainsheet

my 16 /1 has the original camcleat in the odd position ,that is hard to sheet trough,
so i was thinking to replace it with some sort of swivel cleat,
i saw the ones that they have at west marine,but it requires instalation. Take the old one out , fill the holes, redrill holes for the new one,etc

now this i can just attach with its shackle to the eyelet of the old clamcleat and go happy sailing,... the only draw back i can see is that when the mainsheet is not in tension it would kinda bang around loosely...i dont know. Other than that the price looks good.

does anybody use a set up like this? do you think it would work

I made up a new sheeting system with Harken blocks.

Expensive but worth it.

Yea I feel your pain.
I didn't like the way my factory supplied cleat and jam was working on the CP-19 so I bent things around to make the 'line jam' less cumbersome on  my wrist. I also have a 1/8"nylon line from this piece of equipment up to the stern rail. Again to raise the block up even after bending.

Additionally the tiller lay too low so I screwed in a wood screw under the tiller where the tiller hits the cast aluminum stop. By leaving the screw stick out a bit the level of the tiller can be adjusted upward to my liking.
