How bout us tree huggers that don't want engines and want to rely on sail and oars?  How bout us, huh?  No, serious question.  I have a set of seven 7' oars and need to know where to place the lock system,  what type of locks have you used, permanent mountings, etc...?  I'm 6'2"  cp 16  1977 stock...any suggestions?
Thanks

Hey Roamy:
I recall a thread in the C-16 section on oars last summer or it was part of a discussion for a very well equipped C16, some folks had extensively cruised that was for sale.  It covered oar length, lock positioning and if I recall the rower sat on a cooler.

There are a variety of mounts that would work.  Take a look at bosonsupplies.com, west marine and defender.  The inlaid sockets in the coamings look to be the best fit, but that's a guess.

+1 for Deisher.  If you do a search on oars (above, to the right) you'll find some older posts on this issue that will helpful. It has been done before, just about everything has when you're talking about a boat the started production 38 years ago.

Whatever you come with, just think it through real good before drilling holes!
