Just heard on the news that the state of Florida could be sunned-in for the next several days. Residents have been urged to hunker down at your nearest beach and/or tiki bar for further instructions. Use extreme caution when braving this blizzard of sunshine, preferably SPF30. We are asking our friends and relatives to the north to please keep us in their thoughts as we deal with 2 feet buried in the sand.

Nice try.  You thought you could make us northerners jealous with your wam temperatures, sunshine, beautiful women in skimpy clothes....but no it isn't going to work.  Here in Wisconsin we have,  well....  we have.... we have.... Crap, you win!

Jim:
I see this is a very serious matter and in the name of Compac Brotherhood, I hopping on the next flight so you don't have to handle this alone. Geez...it's 4 against 1! That ain't fair! I can see this is going to be dangerous so I think it's best for my wife not to join me in this mission. What if I don't make it out alive?

The weather forecast for Punta Gorda is about 83 sunny degrees for the next 7 days or so. I'm getting real tired of this. Sailing 3 or 4 times a week, sandals, T-shirt and shorts. I'm missing the 25 inches of snow we used to deal with in NJ.

Ha - if you believe that I've got a bridge for sale. It conncects Brooklyn with Manhattan. Make an offer.

You Southerners are gettin' soft!
We hope to be in Punta Gorda visiting our daughter around end of Feb into beginning of March.
But, after seeing the dangers that Jim posted, I'm having second thoughts.

Shout out to you West coast (of Florida that is) residents, I hope to be over there in March with Miss B. I am making another attempt to do the south Florida loop and will be going counterclockwise thru the lake and around. Would love to meet up with any of you while in the neighborhood and will be looking for recommended anchorages, waterfront dining, favorite Tiki bar, etc.
Also will be looking for crew from time to time if anyone is interested since my wife cannot make the entire trip.

That is if I survive Jan and Feb.

Capt'n Jim,

Let me know in advance of your arrival in the Charlotte Harbor (Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda) area. I have local knowledge of the surrounding waters and would be happy to answer any questions and even meet up with ya!

Jim:
When will you be in Fla, west coast? Maybe you, I and Nemo can get out sailing on his Suncat. He is, after all, the Suncat Master of the CPYOA!

Bob23,
I haven't nailed down dates when I will start but I am planning for last of March - first of April time frame.  I will keep you posted as I get more firm on the dates. Would love to join you guys, sailing on a Suncat sounds like fun, I've never been on one.

Glad to hear your'e still alive. Considering the extreme weather conditions you must be enduring, I was a bit worried. I hear that FEMA  is sending down emergency shipments of sunblock, umbrellas and beach towels, and ice cold Dos Equis beer. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
