The original owners lived less than 30 minutes away from Hutchins so they were there quite often watching the boat being built.

An interesting and outstanding effort, to be sure.
Thanks for serving.

Well, brought the boat home on the trailer after it sat in the storage yard for the last 7 months.  Pretty dirty...now the fun part begins.

A little fiberglass work is in order...hate it when this happens.

Here's the fiberglass damage from the inside; at least it's accessible.

Time to de-clutter and power wash.  This stuff adds a lot of weight to the boat.

What you're looking at is a lot of water damage inside.  At low tide, the boat would lay over on her starboard side and over time water got in.  You can see how high it went...this will be fixed!

After a good power washing.  I plan on painting her in navy blue Awl Grip.  I did a lot of scraping on that bottom; the boat was in the water for about 8 years.

Looks like she's finally got a good home. Best of luck in your new endeavor!

Hey Cap

You're right about "now the fun begins!"  To me, half the fun of havi.ng a good ol' boat is working on her.  Enjoy the journey.

PS  Nice trailer!

USMCR O-5

Bob,
Great to hear from you.  That trailer saved this boat!  It's allowed me to work on her as my time allows, moving her between the storage yard and my home.  Thanks again.

I got a pleasant surprise as I cleaned the boat out.  Tucked away inside was a boom tent that had been made for the boat.  Except for some dirt, which cleaned up easily, it was in almost new condition.

Nice, when you get to the point of putting up the boom tent please post pictures.
