I thought I'd let you guys know my offer of last year still stands, I'm willing to teach you celestial navigation, free of charge, if you don't mind commuting to where I live (Fort Lauderdale) for the classes and hands-on instruction.  Just let me know if you're interested. The course notes are on this website somewhere.

This essay has been accepted for publication in a national magazine, so I have been forced to remove it for copyright reasons. I'll let you know when it will appear, and where. The offer above of a free celnav class still stands.

Hi Henry.  Currently out of state right now but i've been reading up on it and trying to teach myself Celestal Nav.  Without dedicating myself completely for a time and getting outside help, its tough! If it is okay with you I would indeed like to take you up on your offer.  Might not be for a long time; Have to move back first (that should be pretty soon), I have to plan out army boot camp for the guard accounting for school for my third degree.  I too am about to blow away some money I saved up in my cushy temporary job.  I'm sure its at a different level from what you experienced but it still sucks! Hopefully it pays off.

Anytime you're ready, get in touch.  Meantime, you might want to look over the articles here entitled "CelNav Zero" through "CelNav Twelve", etc, and check them out.

Ditto for me too Henry. I plan on Sailing my Valiant 40 through the canal to Florida. I will look you up then. Until then I will enjoy your excellent articles.
