well its that time again (sadly) to tuck my cp16 into the corner of my garage. it wasnt the best sailing season this year. lake carlyle was flooded most of the summer and the ramps were closed. however, the few days of sailing we got in were all the sweeter. the high point of the summer was the clr. old friends welcomed back and new friends made. great sailing and one super week. and some lessons learned (next time no race course----just a sprint to our raft up point at hazlett. when im in the garage working on my old 52 ford i always walk over and pat my 16 (renamed Audrey J this year) on her side and make sure she is comfortable. that little boat is one of the best investments i ever made. im sure others feel just the same. well im done rambling ( im famous for that ----and my bad language too). wishing all com-pac sailors a great thanksgiving and hoping all will be safe travelling. a special thanks to all the clr sailors---you guys and gals made our summer.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.  I just walked in the door from winterizing the sailboat's kicker.   Enjoy the holidays.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, especially those up North who have put their boats away for the winter.

Going for a sail tomorrow on Charlotte Harbor, SW Florida, with my neighbor. Winds are suppsed to be around 10-12 mph and the high is predicted to be 80!

Y'all come on down to where we sail year round.

Happy Thanksgiving all!!

Island Time is also tucked away for the winter in her pole barn.  We put her away in late October, a couple of weeks earlier than usual but vacation plans and other stuff took priority. At least I didn't have to give her a final season cleanup in the usual cold windswept weather we get in early Nov.   A large 1948 tractor is her stable mate...I don't imagine they have much in common to talk about :)

Now the long wait.  Nemo, you Florida sails need to keep us up to date on your adventures!!!

We sailed on the St. Johns River today out of Navy JAX.  Winds were out of the east at 5-10 knots and the temp was a balmy 77 degrees.  Our season is just offset from yours.  It gets pretty hot and there's a lot of lightning sailing here in the summer!  I'm sure your spring launch will be upon you before you know it...

Nemo:
I'm organizing a bus trip for all of us Northern Compac sailors. We're gonna be dropping by for a visit, staying a week or two at your house. We should be arriving early Thursday morning- hey- what a coincidence- that's Thanksgiving Day! Shouldn't be too much of a problem...only a couple dozen of us. Stock up on seafood and beer. Lots of both. And, on everyones behalf, thank you for your southern hospitality!

i like to sit in the rear of the bus to keep track of the other passengers----its a "keep your back to the wall thing" count me in

Gee, Bob23 - Save a seat for me! But, on the other hand, have you seen the weather report for Saturday and Sunday!!! This is where it is really handy that Pegasus is on wheels! CP16's sure are cool. I don't know if she'll see any more water under her keel this year, but it's sure nice to know that she can. I have an awful lot of yardwork to do this coming weekend... drat!

Although I don't know you, Happy Birthday Tim. Com-Pac owners seem to be the nicest folk and have a habit of making one feel that they belong.

And Kickingbug1, thanks for the best wishes, right back at ya!

All - Please don't forget what we're all thankful for... God Bless America!
