where can I find compac trailer hardware?

I recently purchased a compac 16 after some searching. Got a boat in great unused condition, good sails etc. , but the trailer "no looka so good". The hardware at the top of the galvanized post that holds the wooden "bunks" is rusted through and needs replacing. I called Compac and they stated they no longer carry trailer parts. I went to a local trailer store and they had nothing similar but did have hardware that would bolt on the trailer to completely replace the existing struts and bunks (much more expensive).
Does anybody know of a source for the hardware that attaches to the galvanized pipes and attaches to the wood bunks? Much thanks.    Patrick

I forgot to mention that the boat and trailer are 1983. The rest of the trailer is in good shape. Thanks again.

Just curious, where did you find a "Com-Pac" trailer?

Just kidding, is it a performance trailer? That is what Hutchins used in '83. They went out of business in the late 90's I think. any metal shop should be able to get you those "L" shaped brackets to attach the bunks to the post. Mine were so bad when I 1st bought my boat that the bunks stuck to the bottom of the hull 1st time I launched her. I had a local Metal shop make me some for around $10-$15.

And your trailer has struts (springs?) They are probably leaf springs. You should be able to get those from any trailer shop for around $40. If you launch in salt water I would by a few extras, cause they will rust very quickly. They don't come galvanized.

Where are you located? I completely rebuilt my trailer (everything but the frame) for around $350. That includes axle, hubs, tires & wheels, leaf springs, tounge jack, wench, and lights.
1983 Com-Pac 19 I hull number 35 -no name-
