Hey guys,
Do any of you guys know of any 3D cad models (IGES or similar) of a CP 27? I am finally getting my entire lot, house, dock, etc. modeled up as I have either built, landscaped, or repaired every inch of it and now I want to put Miss B. in the canal.  I am pretty sure I can find a sailboat model on the net but would like it to be true.  It's what I do in south Florida in the sweltering summer while you northerners are sailing.
Fair winds, good sailing and "come on February".

Hi Jim:
Hope the bow sprite worked out for you. Interesting about the 27/2 CAD model, often wanted to tackle it myself but been to busy working. Could be an intersting project, what is your software of choose?
Solidworks or ProE, have Rhino 4 if we need it to loft out the hull. Just got certified in Solidworks (have a commercial licence). Anyone else have knowledge of existing computer models of ComPac's. Perhaps we could even get Dave H. on board !!!!! Looking at a 31 foot Southern Cross this weekend...perhapps I'll be stepping up.

Pro-E is my CAD package of choice. I also have a seat of Solid Works but am much more proficient at Pro. I've been using it for 15 years now so the challenge would be more in getting the measurements needed than the actual modeling.

Let us know how the "looking" goes.  Is it the cutter version?

Hi Jim:
Yes, it is a cutter rig and still has the tiller setup. Been sitting for three years now, I'll let you know what the outcome is. Have a seat of Wildfire 3.0, but lately doing more Solidworks than ProE work. Maybe I'll sell Allure as a two boat for one price special and include the parts boat LOL........

I used Solid Works (Design drafter retired) and have thought too of modeling some plans up and then building a model.

I would most likely would build it out of wood.

Just haven't gotten around to it. May be this winter.

I have also heard there were "modeling companies" which would build a model of your boat. I have long since forgotten the name of the modeling company.
