Have any CP27 owners replaced the original fitment Isofurl roller furling system on their boat? Why and with what system?  My Isofurl has worked fine during my ownership, but I have always had a niggling feeling in the back of my mind about having a rotating aluminum foil double as my headstay, particularly when sailing hard on the wind. Any imput out there on failures, etc.?

So Pedro: Let me get this straight: With the Isofurl there is no forestay? That'd make me nervous enough to spill my beer!  I like my CDI: I use the existing forestay, is has no bearings to speak of... seems pretty simple.
I might be sailing North this weekend...I'll give you a shout on the shoe-phone.

Correct Bob, no forestay in the normal sense. The aluminum foil, with a rotating union at the top and bottom, is the forestay. This, as I understand it, is a design of the same folks that brought you Citroen.

Ah, yes- the Citroen. How well I remember that car. To my credit, although I've made of mistakes in my like, I've never owned a Citroen. Although I did like the way you could raise and lower the car depending on road terrain. I like my Toyotas...and my forestay!
