An easy way to store the drop board is to cut her in half. The cut is made on a 45 degree so water running down the boards will stay outside the cabin. All you old guys have seen this already. The new guys might be interested.
This really makes the handling, and carrying through the boat, and storage very easy. I simply slip each half between the quarter birth cushion and the 'rugged' bulkhead.

Plus when sailing in the weather the bottom piece of hatch keeps rouge waves at bay.
And when anchored a low sun can be shaded out of the cabin when the top piece is installed. The sliding companionway can be left closed or open. The drop board stays 'stuck' in it's track do to the narrowing of the assembly. The factory drop board rotted away. I traced and cut a new one. Paint the inside white for bright cabin insides.

Here is my length adjustable lock down tiller~holder. Only uses one or the other side of the cockpit combing.
No limp ropes in the way or globby rope clutch things on my tiller.
