New Sails for Blond Ambition

Hi Everyone,
I am finally feeling settled into my new job, so I hope to be a regular to the site again.
Blond Ambition is in for a treat this year.  I have ordered new sails for her.  Neil Pryde is making a new loose footed fully battened mainsail with a Dutchman system and a furling jib for her.  I have ordered a CDR furler.  Now all I need is a good rigger to make sure everything goes together as it should.  I might get a new forestay along with the furler.  I couldn't think of a better use for that severence check than to give Blond Ambition a boost.
I am afraid that I will have less frantic stories with my new furling jib... I am picturing not having to run to the bow, then back to reset the tiller, then back to the bow on a rough sea and howling winds trying to douse my jib.... Oh.. the good old days.  LOL
My sails are supposed to arrive in April... the sooner the better.
Right now I am anxiously awaiting the warm weather to get the ice chunk off of her.
Take Care,
Sherie

Sherie,

Not to fear, those frantic stories are still possible.  Nothing like a furling drum jamming when you're trying to get your jib furled when the big wind comes up unexpectedly.:(

fair winds and good luck with the new sails.

I'll echo Brack, Sherie. I've had the drum jam and  the sheets snag. You're not home free, BA!
On another note, Koinonia is also getting a new suit this year by local sailmaker Eggers in South Amboy. A little different take than yours, though. Maybe we can compare sails at the Tices Shoals 'Voo 2011?!
