Make be sure you check out the Nov/Dec issue of Small Craft Advisor.  Com-Pac's made a few appearances in this issue.  A nice review of the Sun Cat "Jubilee", a picture of a CP23 involved in the WWP Cruiser Challenge, and a neat little article about cruising with kids which features a CP16.

Go Com-Pac.

I used to get SCA but had to let my sub lapse due to $. As of when I last saw it, they had never reviewed a Compac 23...I thought that odd. It's a great magazine; i just had to scale down. I'll pick this one up...and thanks for the heads up!

Wow! Thanks for the tip Mike. Never heard of the mag before. Still sailing up here on the Hudson! Tomorrow forecast around 60 with just a touch of breeze - enough to get me out with a deadline for hauling next Saturday!

I saw those too...nice to see some CP representation in the magazine.  About this time last year the front cover was a CP16 with all the trimmings.
Think they need to interview Bob sometime!

Rip- enjoy your time sailing- when this storm gets your way it will be winter. Man is it cold!

Bob23

We had  60's temps yesterday. Monday I stole out for a sail aboard the famous (at least to me) 1985 Compac 23/2 "Koinonia". Sunny, south wind 15-22 knots, and clear blue skies.  Cold weather is on the way; the temp drops even as your writer taps the early morning keys!
Sorry for the hijack. No I'm not.

Newt:
we're thinkin' about you. Keep the shovel handy and gas up the snow blower! I'm planning on sailing Saturday. Not ready for snow yet.

No white stuff on LBI today Bob? I sometimes forget how much the salt air can change things when the temps are close to freezing...

Here near Allentown PA it was around 30 degrees in the AM and we had near an inch on the ground by noon. It went up to around 36 in the PM changing the snow to rain and washing any accumulation away. As nice as it was to look at our first snow of the season I am glad it was mostly gone by the afternoon when I had to drive to a family dinner.

Bob23

No white stuff. We had some light sleet and rain but the temps hovered in the 40's. Presently, it's 58, windy with a falling barometer.
I also like snow but not this early and we too had to drive a bit for a dinner with my son, his girlfriend-soon-to-be-wife and her family. Had a great dinner but 2 cups of coffee at night results in my being awake at 0238 hours!
Anyone hear from Newt? I think I can just see the top of his mast stickin' out through a snow drift! Better get the St. Bernards out there fast...he might need a snort of brandy!
Rereading the lead post in this thread, I just checked out the Small Craft Advisor website and remembered how much I enjoyed that magazine. Hmmm...I wonder how the Big Red Mans funds are doing this Christmas? I wonder if I've been good enough this year to get a gift subscription? No, I didn't think so either.
Bob23...digesting it all!

I'm still here ! (sputtering while he cleans the snow off his cap and face), I was just a little blizzard! :)

Thought you all would like to know that this issue is now the sample digital version on the SCA website.

Enjoy.

Tim - I'm on the SCA web site right now, and don't see a link to a sample digital issue. Where did you find it?

They did a review of the 19 in one of their early issues. In fact I got it off this site about 2 years ago. And there was a write up about a 16 on a lake a little while back too. I think it was called "Return to Eden."
