In addition to the fun of meeting folks here at the site in cyber-ville is the opportunity to meet actual humans in person. On our last (and only) trip south to Florida, I had the chance to meet Capt Nemo of Suncat fame. We had a great couple of hours together drinking coffee and talking sailboats. I felt as If I'd known him for years. Thanks, Nemo!
This saturday coming, I'm planning to meet up with Jthatcher od CP 23 fame. He is venturing into the Garden State to check on his 23 and on my way back down from Eggers Sailmakers with Koinonia's new suit, I will check in with J and meet up with him at his marina in Bayville. Should be fun!
Of course, this writing would be most incomplete without mention of PeterG and Admiral Becky who I met at the very first Tice's Shoals Rondayvoo. They then were owners of the Beagle (cp19) and now are proud parents of the Beagle 2 (cp27). We have shared a few meals together both aboard and  on land and I hope to maintain a long friendship with them as we see eye to eye on many levels not the least of which is p______tics. Shhhh.
Of course, the 2011 Tices Shoals Rondayvoo is coming up soon so maybe more folks here will show up and we'll get to tell sailing lies in person. First round of Dark and Stormys are on me!
Oh, shoot- I almost forget Sherie Munday (aka Blonde ambition.) Who could forget her and her great stories. I met her the summer of 2010 and bought her cantankerous outboard from her.

I have. Today after I picked up my new sails from John Eggers Sailmakers, and not being too anxious to arrive home to move landscaping bricks, I stopped to meet Jthatcher in Bayville at a marina where he keeps his 1983 23. I didn't get the boats name but I'm sure J (may I refer to you at JT?) will post it here soon.
We hung out down inside his boat shooting the breeze about 23's. Hey! That rymes! I'm a poet but I don't know it but my feet show it because they're longfellows. Sorry.
It was great getting to know JT and we discussed a caravan sail out of Barnegat Inlet up to Manasquan and down the Point Pleasant Canal. If it materialized, it would be fun...hope so.
I soon arrived home (late) and moved the very heavy landscaping bricks. Funny how each one gets heavier. The vegetable garden planter is done for the Admiral so tomorrow is back to work on the boats! One must prioritize in life, mustn't one!

When i proposed the idea of buying a boat to my wife, i told her that boat owners were friendly folks..   that has certainly been the case in the short time that I have been involved with this board..    the name of the boat is Adagio, but it will be a while before we make that official..    the trip up to Manasquan..  well that is just a matter of time :)    but, a few more shake down cruises will be in order before we attempt it!     as for icing on the cake..  i totally agree - I am already in debt to folks here as well as people at the marina who have been so friendly and who readily offer tips..   I am looking forward to a great sailing season!  jt
