Interesting ending note to your post, Glenn.
In the 50's "Time and Tide" was the name of my father in laws Lightning sailboat that he raced back then. He didn't just race- he dominated. Some of the folks who crewed for him have gone on to race in world class races. I saw an old newspaper article about the race coverages calling him "The Bay Fox". It went on to say: "Like Time and Tide, Otto Hansen waits for no man."
He turned 91 the past August, doesn't race anymore but up to last year would take his sunfish out alone for hours. He's forgotten more than I'll ever know and that's not good because he has forgetten hardly anything! He knows a proper yacht and agrees that my 23 is such a one.
Sorry for the hijack, men. Thought you'd like to know this.

Ed. note: I split this topic into a new one because the content is so interesting and Bob really has alot to say in a short post. We all probably have our "Old men and the sea stories"
