I'm always a little apprehensive taking a new boat out for the first time. I don't know yet what to expect from it. I can say now unequivocally this one is a keeper. Set up and launch was easy (I was solo today). And she moves in light air or fresh. I  was amazed how little wind was needed to keep her moving! When the wind freshens she steps out pretty respectably too. Yes sir, I don't think I was setting any speed records but I'm sore from grinning!

The one thing that puzzled me was when I was playing with the centerboard to get an idea of "throw" on the lanyard, at one point it stuck in the up position. Wouldn't drop again, I was on a run at the time, well maybe a bit of a reach. I finally gave up and was surprised to find performance really didn't suffer much when I came 'round into the wind again. Then, tacking into the wind, I tried it again and it dropped like a rock, up, down, up, down, no problem. Haven't run into that before.

Docking went smoothly though I'm still undecided about the Honda 2 I have. It seems a bit touchy and I think I'd like a N and a R. Need more time with that. Reloading on the trailer was so easy. I really like the keel bunks. It's simple, put keel "A" into slot "B", all lined up and ready to go, and that was in a cross wind.

I'm tired. It was a grand day.

Mel:
Congrats on the first sail! I've never sailed a Legacy before but sounds like a great boat. Maybe next one but for now my old 23 will have to do.
I consider having F-N-R on an outboard as essential...just my opinion.
Sore from grinning is a good thing!
