friday i went to the strickly sail show in chicago. There were attractive banners everywhere that said Strictly Sail. i was accompanied by my sister in law, her 22 year old son, and my wife. the show was pretty much what you would expect, hunters, catalinas, hobies, flying scots, lasers , com-pacs and other small craft. it was, however, pretty much dominated by the big stuff. not being small boat snobs we took off our shoes and took a close look at several large (and unbelievably pricey) cruisers. on one occasion we stepped aboard a 49 ft hunter. climbing down into the cabin i observed two blonde (obviously wealthy) late 20s  trophy wives, one with a 50s pot gut husband in tow. in the close quarters of the salon one couldnt help overhearing their conversation. blonde #1 said, "isnt this just the cutest ?" blonde#2 replied, "its not near as nice or big as the one doctor so and so and i had in bimini.  blonde#1 said, "it sure would be nice to save $1200.00 a week on gas though. Blonde#2  "what do you mean, how does it save gas?" Blonde #1 "it uses the wind" watching Blonde #2 (with a totally confused look on her face) , I said "its a SAILBOAT sweetheart". true story with appologies to those cp sailors who happen to be of blonde hair. p.s. later on we saw the same three people at Bubba Gumps resteraunt. anyway the waiters occasionally quiz patrons with trivia questions about the movie Forrest Gump. funny how Blonde #2 had an even more confused look on her face when confronted by her waiter.

Funny. I don't know how many folks here are blonde except for Sherie of "Blonde Ambition" fame who is an obvious exception to the stereotypeed blonde that you had the pleasure of meeting. Poor blonde #2- that was good of you to set her straight!
Bob23- Hey- I had blonde hair as a kid. Might explain my dysfuntionality as a grade schooler.

I for got all about "Blond Ambitions"...............

I miss reading her stories, is she still with our forum ?

Bob23

I hope so. Hey, Sherie- are you listening?

Kickinbug1 says, "friday i went to the strictly sail show in chicago" I want to know about the show. More precisely the vendors. See anything that tripped your trigger, other then blonds? There are some lookers there hey?
Did you come home with a whole bag full of literature?

Bob23 You know plenty...? of redheads! Cool. True redheads have lots of freckles. It's fun to connect all the dots.
And red is the lowest quantity of hair color in the human population.

skip.

I wonder where that "dumb blonde" thing started. Maybe Marilyn Monroe? I know plenty of blondes, brunettes, red heads, etc., and I can't really come up with a stereotype thing. But, hey, I'm not that good at judging people! I know some intelligent blondes and some really stupid non-blondes. I wonder...?

LOL..Becky is not offended.   Her hair is "bottle blond" anyway.    Well, she did marry me so I guess one would have to question her intelligence :)  I can only presume her masters degree with summa cum laude is just a fluke?  Yea..must be.

You're story is truly funny.  I would have been rolling on the floor after your comment to them!

I don't think trophy wives are chosen for thier intellegent conversation.  It would probably go over the heads of their husbands, anyway!  As a former blonde, in my youth, and the mother of three more blondes, I know plenty of highly intellengent persons whose hair is of many colors.  Sometimes it depends on the mood of the day!  I'm  also the grandmother of many intellegent persons, blonde, brunette, and redheads!
