Site Doesn't Always Seem to Recognize Me

When attempting to post to the thread concerning screen size and scrolling, the site popped up a field at the top for username.  I entered my username (Whitecaps).  After typing the post and clicking on "Submit" I received a message saying that username was already taken.  So I removed the contents of the field and clicked on "Submit" again.  The text was posted to the site, but the username shows up as "Guest."  Now in this instance, I clicked on the button to post new topic and the username field does not show up at the top.  Should I always use the 'post new topic' button instead of the 'reply to' button?'

Sounds like a cookie problem, maybe. Or, if you'd looked at the page before being logged in, maybe your browser "remembered" you not being logged in?

I dunno, Grant. Do you see this often, or was it just this one time?

I'm batting 2 for 2 with my comprehensive ubergeekness today... :)

Aye CaptK,
Whose to say?  I had looked at the page prior to logging in, so maybe it didn't remember me.  However, it seemed to work just fine this morning.  AFAIK, that is the only time it has happened.
Thanks for the reply,
Grant
