Merry Christmas to all and a Very Happy New Year.
Winter has just started here in NJ. 20 inches of snow last Saturday. Very rare for the Jersey shore so early in the year. Toms River/Barnegat bay has ICE all along Ocean Gate.
Fair winds to all.

Phil:
Where in NJ are you? (I may have asked this question before.) I'm in Southern Ocean County; Manahawkin and sail on the Barnegat and Manahawkin bays. Yup...'bout 18-20 inches of the white stuff greeted me when I got back from Mexico monday morning.
We also have ice along the western side of LBI. I'm glad my boat is tucked away in the back yard. Have a wonderful Christmas all!

Merry Christmas, Bob. I'm sure it must feel good to be away from all that heat and bright sunshine and Tequila, and back to more familiar surroundings! ;) It sounded as though your little Koinonia was starting to feel a bit dejected. I'm sure she's happier knowing you are near by.

Merry Christmas to all!
And peace on earth and upon the face of the deep...

Hi Bob,
I am a bit late, but I will add my Happy New Year to all for a safe, happy, and healthy year filled with love both on the sea and on dry land!
Best Wishes,
Sherie

Hey there Sherie:
I was wondering if you were lurking in the cyber-shadows just waiting for the opportunity to post. Best to you and "Blonde Ambition" in the coming year. "Koinonia" is bundled up for the winter in the backyard in her favorite canvas pj's. I'm just starting to plan this winters to do list. But I gotta find some work yet. Need any teak sanded and varnished?
Bob23...glad you are back. I really missed your accounts of the escapades of you and "Blonde".

Bob23,
I live between Pine Beach & Ocean Gate across the street from the Toms River which is actually in Bayville. I mostly sail Keel Joy from TR down to Waretown and back.
We often are at Tic's Shoal but usually with my son's power boat as we can get in close enough to walk into the beach, after all Keel Joy drawn 3.5 ft and I do not usually tow a dingy.
The river /bay is getting very ice covered but will probably shrink with the warmer weather later this week. I keep waiting for the first ice boat to appear.
Happy New Year and just maybe we will see you on beautiful Barnegat bay

Phil:
Well, another hardy New Jerseyan here at the site. Maybe we'll get together sometime on the bay. I put "Koinonia" in at Townsend's Marina in Forked River and usually stay up that way for a few weeks before heading down to Surf City. Hope to see you on the Bay!
My friend Dennis routinely brings his 1970 Morgan 30 to Tices....also draws 3.5 ft. No problems. but it is a bit drier with a dingy.
