Book: An eccentric Englishman (who else) dons his pith helmet and sails his Mirror dinghy from North Wales to the Black Sea. An enjoyable off season read, it includes adventure, humor (of course) and some surprises. I give it one finger up (you decide which).

I loved this book!  More good reads...Three Years in a Twelve Foot Boat, The Biggest Boat I could Afford, The Incredible Voyage, and of course, Maiden Voyage.
Oriental, "The Sailing Capitol of North Carolina".

1985 Compac 19/II  "Miss Adventure"
1986 Seidelmann 295  "Sur La Mer"

Greene

Great recommendation on Tristan Jones' Incredilble Voyage.  Just what I needed to entertain myself today at home with pneumonia.  Downloaded the book on the Admiral's Kindle and read it end to end.  Very entertaining and amazing.  I also agree with your recommendation of Maiden Voyage, it was a fun read.

What did you go and get pneumonia for? What some guys won't do to get out of work. Try "Lone Voyager". The story of Howard Blackburn, a Gloucester fisherman caught in a blizzard and separated from his ship while halibut fishing in his dory. An extraordinary tale of perserverance and survival. The Blackburn Challenge is named after him.  A great book to read while you're out there whining about having pneumonia! Hot tea with Pussers Rum might make you feel a bit better, too!
