Polishing Stantions

Hello All,
Drove up to Newport last weekend to help a friend out with his 43 ft Mason (a truly beautiful boat).  We had a gorgeous spring day on Saturday... spent it polishing the stantions.  We used Bronze wool and Woody Wax.  I plan to polish my own this weekend if the weather holds and I was trying to remember ... I read somewhere about using a household product to shine them?  Could it have been toothpaste?  What do you use?

Tooth Paste would work. I use this on canvas, and convertable car tops. But I think a more aggressive attack would render a faster but same result.
I have always enjoyed Mequire's #49 as for me it has just enough grit and polish for these stainless steel or are they aluminum. I have seen both materials used.  Note this is not a wax and so wax would become the second coat. This will build up your arm muscles so use both arms. Don't want to list. LOL skip.
Bronze wool works better on teak wood? Of course with salt it's a loosing battle me thinks.
