cp 23/3 weight and measurments

what is the exact weight? she's rated at #3000.  is that a theoretical figure on paper or the true weight.
what does that include/exclude.  meaning; no hardware, standing rigging, mast, cushions, sliding galley, sink, sails etc...?

anyone knows the measurements for trailering. the keels length, width, depth. distance of the keel from
each end towards the center. makes trailering much easier when the boat is balanced properly. so they say!
i never hauled anything more than a cp 16 and that's ages ago!

Hi Rudy,

I think the only way to know the weight would be to measure it.  The old brochures stated the "weight" at 3000 pounds, but no displacement figure.  Strangely, the current brochure lists a displacement of 3000 pounds.

From rough (very rough) calculation it looks like a 23 gains about 1 inch of draft for each 500 pounds of weight added to the boat.

Load her up like your going down to go sailing.
Find a metal scrap yard and roll up on the scale with the whole
rig. Boat/truck/trailer/ancillary equipment.
Float the boat.
Drive drive back to the scrap yard and weigh what's left.
or.
Measure the lenghts and thickness and height of the channel
that the trailer is made from, and the axle, guess at the
wheel/brake weight hitch and look up the weight per foot in a
Ryerson Steel book on-line.

I unhooked my empty trailer and manually pulled her on to
the scale. I forget how much but it was light.
