Well,

The forum is back!  I don't know if it helped, but I called the hosting company & Left a message on their machine a while back to let them know about the loading problem of this page.  I was having serious  Com-Pac withdrawl problems.

Hi Tim:

You weren't the only person having serious withdrawl problems not being able to access this site.   Thanks for your efforts in getting it back up.   :)

Perhaps it might help if a few members have the web site managers phone # or personal e-mail in order to advise when there is a problem??

Personal good news is that I took delivery (finally) of the (of the new to us)1992 COM-PAC 27/2 last week and sailed it from Kent Island, MD.  down to Regent Point Marina, Topping, VA.  (think Deltaville area).  The trip was done over a two day timeline.  First day from Grasonville, MD. (departing @ 12:00 PM) to Solomons Island, MD.  arriving at approximately 9:00PM.   It was a beautiful day.     The second day departed Solomons Island at 8:30AM and arrived at Regent Point Marina at 6:00PM.    Basically motorsailed most of the way in order to know an approximate arrival time.   Any COM-PAC owners in the Regent Point Marina area please feel free to stop by some weekend and say hello.

Having been removed from sailing for around 36 years or so, it taking me some time to re-adjust to the speed differentials as opposed to flying.  When one is used to 120 kts., ripping along at 6.5 - 7.0 kts. now is a mind twister.    One lighthouse was in sight for almost two hours before passing same as opposed to 2 minutes in the air.   Buts that's why Kathy and I have gotten back into sailing, to stop or at least slow down and smell the roses & salt air.

Spent the past weekend inventorying the contents of the boat (this aspect took 5 hours) and then started cleaning.   The forward & main cabin are now completed with the exception of oiling the teak.  Also washed everything above deck and the gel coat still looks great.  Below decks this boat looks brand new.  This coming weekend will be cleaning & organizing the cockpit lockers, adding a few hose clamps, cleaning the vents (fuel tank, water tank, etc.) and still trying to locate the emergency tiller.  Hope I don't need to order one.

Sorry this is so lengthy, guess we're just excited to be back in sailing.

Darn, I really missed not having access to this site.   There seems to be so much helpful information from teak maintenance to diesel care.   Extremely happy to have it back.

Tim,

Thanks for the effort to get us back up again.

I was really at a lost when I could not open my Com PAc site.

Yep, Bad Guys found a crack to slip in through.

Am in the process of cleaning up and securing everything. The site may go back down from time to time while that happens.

The site moderators have my contact information, if needed - please don't post it here in public, where Bad Guys and telemarketers can see it. ;)

Thanks for all your work on the Site, this site is one of the greats reasons I like my com-pac 16  and sailing.

Thanks again CaptK.  We all owe ya a beer.  That ought to add up to several hundred beers.  ;)  OK, so maybe a keg. ::)  :D

You the Captain!! :D :D :D

Mucho thanks, Cap'tK:
As Joni Mitchell sang so long ago "you don't know what you've got till it's gone". I sure missed the opportunity to hang out with fellow Compac-tors here at the site. My own 23 "Koinonia" sits on her trailer in the back yard, winter pj's on and all tucked in for the winter. Early haulout due to 9/11 rotator cuff surgery. I missed some great sailing this fall so being here with you'all means all the more.
Cap't- I raise my mug o' Pussers to you!
