For those of you who wonder what the difference in actual size is between a CP 16 and a CP 19, I uploaded a couple of pictures in the Image Gallery of a 16 and 19 side by side.  You'll note that it's not only the length that's bigger, but almost every aspect of the boat is larger.  I'll upload some more soon. (for some reason, the gallery isn't accepting my others - maybe files too large).

Because of the 3 feet in extra length plus the additional height and beam along with a flatter bottom, the actual volume of the CP19 is almost double that of the CP16.

This is a picture I took of the two side by side on trailers.  Its tough to describe.  But after sailing the 16 and getting used to the interior and the topsides, the 19 is huge compared.
On its trailer its quite a step up to board with the swim ladder, or you need a 6 foot ladder to work on the deck.  When working topside with the boat on its trailer you get vertigo.
The cockpits are very similar except the 19 has a bit more beam to the cockpit.  Going forward on the 19 is doable whereas with the 16 in heavy seas I don't like going forward at all.
Launching is about the same.  Stepping and rigging is a bit more heavy on the 19.  For many reasons I wouldn't go back to the 16.  Its a sweet boat and I recommend it to anyone but not for me.

Besides extra room, I really like the handling of the 19 better.  The 16 heeled too much and scared non-sailors.  The 19 moves nicely and feels firm.

Here's a picture of just how roomy the 19 is.  This is a full size bed crosswise in the 19.  Tons of storage forward and under the cockpit lockers.

Nice write-up Mgoller!! I never had a 16, but can't imagine going smaller than my 19 with my family.... and yes she does sail nicely....
