Finally had decent enough weather to bring home my 'new' 1994 Com-Pac 19. I live in Ontario Canada and picked the boat up in Illinois. It was 630 miles each way.
Lots of ugly potholes around this year especially on I-70 in Indiana, but managed to dodge the worst of them.

Tires and bearings stayed cool, the only issue was with an improperly secured trailer bunk coming loose. I caught it before it slid out all the way and promptly secured both bunks with the required 18 screws. I found there were only four in place, mostly obscured by the bunk carpeting, and they were drywall screws! Yikes!

The trailer lights didn't work but I brought a set of magnetic lights along just in case. Having them sure saved a lot of time and aggravation in trying to troubleshoot the electrical system.
From now on, the boat will only be trailered to the marina and back once per year. A round trip of 30 miles or so. I think I'll just keep using the magnetic lights rather than rewire the whole trailer and replace the built in lights.

She needs some major Spring cleaning for sure but everything looks good and sound. I know I can make her as good as new in time.
Taking the day off today, but will start wading through the long list tomorrow.

Many thanks to all who doled out advice in my other thread "What to look for in a used 19". Your help was much appreciated.

My main piece of advice to anyone heading out to pick up a boat, is to bring along more tools than you think you'll need + rope, tie down straps, cable ties, bolts screws etc. Oh yeah, and let's not forget the most useful of all - duct tape!

Congrats on getting her home safe and sound! It's going to be a great summer!!

I'm jealous Norm!  I have to wait a few more weeks before I can pick up my new CP-19.  We have to wait for the ice to melt and the old owner is going to take me out on a first sail with her.  Weather should be breakin' soon though!!
