i need a replacement for the v-block used to secure the pivot rope for the rudder on my cp16. seems to me i read where someone replaced this part with a more substantial block. thanks for any suggestions

Roland,
I had to replace the same on my CP-16 Summer Escape this past summer.  I used one of medium size, V-Cleat w/fairlead.  i.e. the rope goes through one end of it before the v-cleat or jam cleat.  Not sure of where I found it, either West Marine or Defender.  They both probably have the same thing.

Oh! almost forgot.... used bigger screws,  I used JB Weld (metal) in the holes to make sure the screws wouldn't back out.

Good Luck and chat with you soon,
Doug
