just curious----how long is a cp19 when it sitting on the trailer ? (wonder if it will fit in my garage). how much harder is it to rig than my 16 ?( im a trailer sailor)  my s10 pickup pulls my 16 like its not even back there----would it be able to pull the 19.     although im happy with my 16 you never know when you might get 3 footitis.   thanks fair winds to all

My wife and I suffered and ultimately succumbed to 3' itus last fall. Caught the dreaded condition from a local sailing friend who caught it a year earlier.  We immediately felt better after filling the RX for a CP19.
My new Load Rite trailer is 20' long and the CP19 hangs off the back about 5 feet. Similar set up as the Magic Tilt or Performance brand trailers. So figure on around 25  or more (consider tiller and ladder) will be required.

Well the 19 is about 20 feet long. I have mine scooted forward on the Magic-tilt trailer, and I have about 5 feet of room left over in a 28' garage.

She's coming out today, hopefully the weather stays nice!

What is the weight on your hitch with the boat scooted forward?

I haven't weighed it, somewhere around 500 pounds I bet. It lifts the front of my tractor off the ground when I pick it up with the three point hitch mounted ball. And with two big guys standing on the three-point bar we can't lift the front.

With the magic-tilt I have has a lot of wheel adjustment. The previous owner had about 80 pounds of tongue weight. I'm surprised it pulled so well on the way home. I like about 15% tongue weight, so a 3000 pound combo should have 300 to 450 pounds of tongue weight.

Wow, that's a lot of tongue weight. You must have a heck of a hitch!

Typically, trailer (and hitch) manufacturers recommend 5 - 7 % of your gross trailer weight. In my case the GTW is about 3,000 which translates to 180 lbs tongue weight at 6%.

Hmmm, I've always read 10% minimum hitch weight. Tandem axles seem to track better even if the tongue is too light, but single axles can really get to swaying if they are too light.

Yeah, my hitch is pretty stout. and the truck is too.  If I have more than 1000 lbs on the hitch I will use a weight distributing hitch.
