I don't like how this is going. Look at the posts.

Remind me not to sail in the vicinity of Ick. He apparently doesn't know the law, doesn't care, and probably can't sail if his life depended on it! Guys like this are dangerous and are usually found at the helms of powerboats.

Beware of blowhards without sense of humor. You don't know me from Adam so don't try to figure out who I am from a few posts.  I wouldn't do this to you even if I thought you were a idiot. But I guess you had to go and prove it to everone anyway. Nice job.

ick

PS: By the way if this was an attempt at humor I didn't get it. Sorry.

I'll jump in here too since I hijacked this thread.  I know the laws of the road, sea and try to obey them.  Sometimes accidents just happen.  Ick seems like a straight shooter by his writings, but your above assumtion of him has me wondering about you.  Bob23 after reading a police report imagine how many DUI operators are around you on any given hour.  Do you feel safe.......you know the law!

Settle down, boys! Talk about not having a sense of humor...

Ouch,  sorry to hear that you got run down and things are not getting fixed.  I know I would be sick if that were my boat.

Say how did this become so convoluted? Sorry I STARTED THIS. I'm shocked how personal and ouchy this became. Just relax abit. Go sailing. skip.

I think Bob and I have worked this out so no more needs be said.

HEAR HEAR! I'LL DRINK TO THAT! But not now, at 5:00 am. Yes, I am guilty of shooting my mouth off at just the right time. Ick, sorry if I offended you in any way. That certainly was not my intent. I think if we ever to meet in person, we'd be very good friends. Not knowing where you live, that may or may not ever happen. But my best to you and your family for now and the coming future!
On a more somber note, tomorrow is haul-out day for "Koinonia", always a
sad day for me; signals the official end of the sailing season. But I have some die-hard friends who leave their boats in year-round so maybe I get to crew aboard!
We always enjoyed the mid-winter break of the Atlantic City Boat sailboat show and when that went defunt, the Philly show. But, alas, this year is neither, so we'll have to cold turkey it.
WOW! How appropo...cold turkey...get it?
Again, my apologies to Ick and anyone else I may have offended here.
Signing off, bob23

Bob, I am from Suffolk County NY and sail in the Peconic Bays and Long Island Sound. Not that far away.

We had a Compac Convergence in Barnegat Bay this past summer. There was a grand total of 3 boats, including 2 Pacs. Weather was great, we had a great time. Maybe we can lure you down for 2008! Till then, my days will be spend planning- "Koinonia" sits in my back yard on her trailer...yes, she was hauled today.

i think my little 16 is therapy in more ways than one. i sometime go out in the garage and look her over, check and make sure everything is in order below and just run my fingers down her flanks ( no wonder boats are called "she"). i named the little bugger "kickinbug" after another little bugger my one year old granddaughter (kickinbug was the nickname i gave her). anyway i got back into sailing cause that was something my wife sarah and i shared years ago.
i look forward to much advice ( i need it) and will add some ideas from time to time. i cant think of any other group but sailers who tinker and come up with great ideas to be safer and have more fun       thanks from the both of us
