Howdy All,
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who posts here, the info has been great. I bought a 1976 CP-16 (mk1) in April and have done some modifications and a little bit of sailing since then.
I live in Winter Springs,FL and have access pretty much to the whole state on a weekend.  I love that I can trailer my boat anywhere with my mini-van and rig a launch quickly. The best thing, though, has to be the fact that the boat and trailer live in my garage.
I'll post some pictures and thngs later, just wanted to say hi.

Hey there yourself Rich,
Good to have you aboard. Sure glad you're enjoying sailing, especially in your cp. Sounds like you're pretty active and enjoying the gusto.
Hang around, everyone has something to contribute and these folks are a kind lot as well.

Rich,
Welcome to the forum.  Glad you're enjoying your CP-16.  Looking forward to any photos you may post.  What sort of modifications have you undertaken?  Any adventures with photos?  (Did I say we like photos?) ;)

Fair winds,

Paul

HI and Welcome!.
You got the garage thing right... anytime there's a storm coming (like this week again), all we have to do is go down to the garage and "check the mooring lines".  The only thing is... while we're down there, we come up with fun projects to do on the boat...
It's nice not to have to drive to the marina, deal with the mosquitos, and heat.  We went sailing this past weekend... fall is finally beginning to show herself offering a break from the sweltering heat and humidity...  it was great... I'll probably sail tomorrow before the storm in the Gulf changes things.

Welcome fellow central florida sailor. I live in Polk City and sail mostly on Lake Harris in lake county. ( my wifes favorite lake, and hickory point ramp is the best) I hope we meet up sometime, and welcome to the forum.   BILL

I'm glad that there are so many knidred souls nearby. I knew there had to be, these little boats are too cool not to have lots of admirers. I look forward to meeting you all, we should have a meet-up soon. I'm going to Panama City this weekend (see other post), but now that the weathers starting to co-operate a little, we should have some options.

Bill, what's the wind like on Lake Harris? Do you get an unobsructed path? What about power boats/jet skis on the weekend?

In the winter the winds are normally steady, and the power boaters seem to stay along the shore, leaving the BIG part of the lake for sailors to enjoy.

As of October we (New York sailors) get to have the Bays mostly to ourselves.  Love to see the changing leaves from the beautiful Peconic.
