Well, I recently sold my little H-170 and am now actively trying to find a use Eclipse 21 .

I'm not sure when the Eclipse 21 was first manufactured, may be some one could provide me with that information.

Are there any known flaws in the Eclipse I should be aware of or to look for ?

Thanks,

Glenn

Glenn,

I think that the first Eclipse was produced in 2004.   That is why a pre-owned Eclipse is hard to find.  I purchased a new Eclipse (#39) in 2006 and  I'm now enjoying my second season of sailing.

The Eclipse handles well in 10 to 15 knots and under reduced sail I feel comfortable up to 20-25 knots.

The one thing I don't care for is that the jib sheets get hung up on the Mastendr during tacks.  Not all the time but enough to be irritating.

Good luck in your search.  I know you will enjoy...

2004, thanks.

Your so right, finding a used one is difficult, especialy here on the west cost.

I did find a 2006 in another state that I made an offer on over the weekend, will see, a lot more money than what I want or have to spend. selling off my 1930 Ford Model "A" pick up and my little H-170. the 170 sold Friday so I'm committed to the Eclipse.
