Sold the Boat

I sold the boat!  No, not the Compac.  I sold my 15' Hullmaster daysailor.  The gentleman gave me a large down payment and will return Friday with the rest of the cash.  This will be his first boat and the 5 sailing courses he and his wife took will be put to the test as he sails the Emerald Isle area of NC.

Joan said three boats was too many and no way was I going to sell the Compac, so this great little creek sailer had to go.  The proceeds will go to purchasing new sails for the Compac.  Finally I can retire the bedsheets that were once sails.  I'm thinking about going with off white, like an Egyptian cotton look.  Maybe off white for the main and tanbark for the genoa?  Either way I'm also going to have a stack pack made for easier sail dousing.

The big boat is having a new water pump installed and being winterized this Friday.  I figure I can sail the Compac through the winter as I can remove the outboard if neccessary.

Carl, many congrats on making the sale with your 15'! I love the plans for your new sails on the 19 — it all sounds great! I am so happy for you being able to get the 19 out on the water this winter - please share your sailing stories with us when you can!
