I am buying the above model depth sounder with in hull puck transducer...I would benefit of any hint for instalation and proven reliability...I am the happy owner of a CP 23 3 sailing in fresh ( cold ) canadian waters...Wheres and hows will be apreciated

You might want to consider placing the transducer down on the flat side of the hull on the bow side of amidships. I mounted mine down in the starboard V-berth (CP19) locker in order to fish the cable back through the tunnel. I stuck it down on the hull in a silicone caulk bed. That way you can move it if it does not give you a good reading. Steve
