New Sail

I'm thinking of putting up a new sail on my 2004.  The current sail is a replacement by the PO, about 8 years old, and fairly blown out.  I'm somewhat interested in ditching the white, although probably not for a faux-tanbark.  The Egyptian cotton tones would be striking on my boat, but I don't know if that is do-able on a SC.

Who's gone through these motions?  How did you get started?  Are the dimensions online?

Hi, Renae:

Sailrite gives nominal SunCat sail dimensions on their website.
They caution that they are maximum values, and a starting point only.

If I were to replace my SunDayCat sail, I would strongly consider reducing some length off the bottom:
To provide greater ability to tension the luff, and
To provide greater clearance above the boom cradle.

Does Com-Pac post or release the original measurements?

Who makes the sails for them on new boats?

I believe it's Doyle, but that can change at any time, of course.

I do know of serious errors in online databases for PC sails. One owner had to have the sail remade 3-4 times because the shared industry data for PC sails was wrong. He finally got a sailmaker to use his measurements, and the sails were fine. I haven't heard of similar problems with SC sails, but that potential issue is real.
