Happy new year to all of the Comcac-o-nauts out there! Fair winds, following seas, thankfulness and cold beer! Hope to see some of you on the water!!
Cheers!

Happy New Year to you as well my friend!

Here are a few things we realized as we closed the door on one of the most challenging years of our lifetimes:

The dumbest thing we ever bought last year was a 2020 planner.

2019:  Stay away from negative people.  2020:  Stay away from positive people. Go figure!

Every few days try your jeans on just to make sure they fit.  Pajamas will have you believe all is well in the kingdom.

This virus has done what Susan has not been able to do...canceled sports and shut down my favorite watering hole!

You know it was a tough year when your trash guys leave an AA flyer on your recycling bin!

Being peaceful, grateful and well is where we intend this New Year to find us. We wish the same to all.

Happy 2021 all.

Been posting/lurking here sporadically over the years as I hadn't done any sailing since 2012. In August I quite fortuitously found a nice mooring for my 1986 CP 19/2 "Amicus" on Narragansett Bay and was able to enjoy the water until early November.  I retired about the same time and am now looking forward to extended sails in 2021, perhaps even to Block Island or Cuttyhunk (am I crazy?).  Maybe see some of you other New England sailors on the water.

Cheers,

Keith

Happy New Year! Do you really use ice on PBR Bob?

Dale: That's a rumor going around, most likely started by Mas! I do like my PBR cold though, but I'd much rather prefer a Samuel Smith's organic chocolate stout this time of year!!

Happy New Years! I just booked a room for the Annapolis show in October so it'll have to be a great year!

Well L & Gs,
I went out for my first sail of the year on 1/2/21.  At 11:00 am, the winds picked up to 5kts from WNW.  I sailed a reach under my AS for about two miles, and the wind died to dead calm.  Becalmed as such, The admiral and I shared a glass of Merlot under the bright sun and 61 sweltering hot degrees here at Smith Mountain Lake.  45 Minutes later (and an empty BOW), I cranked up my 40# thrust trolling motor and headed back in to my 19's slip at the lighthouse.

Not a great, but not a bad, sailing day, but certainly a great start to 2021!

Sounds like a nice start to the new year Tim!
Only sailing for us would be if we used the boat as a sled.  Hhhmnm, maybe I should look for a tall hill....

Happy new year to you as well , Bob!  and to everyone else on the thread -  looking forward to getting Adagio in the water a little earlier this summer than last and hoping to venture a little further as well...  will keep you posted.   Let me know if any of you happen to visit Maine - Bob has been telling me for years that he has a friend in Boothbay - maybe this will be the year that he shows up?    jt

Carl,  just make sure there's clearance for the mast on that hill. ;D
