Boat is in SC on fresh water and kept on a lift. Centerboard worked fine Mon and left boat at dock in water overnight with centerboard fully up. Went to sail the next day and centerboard would not go down. Lanyard is fully up and released, but CB wont go down. Put boat on lift and looked at CB and could not see any obstacles. CB will move slightly side to side but wont come down. Appreciate any recommendations. Jim W

This has worked for others, for hard and soft growth. Clearly, if it doesn't respond, pounding harder may not be the best idea!

Here's another stuck CB possibility, especially if your board is equipped with zincs. See reply #3.

WIth boat on lift I applied a little more force moving CB side to side and it fell down. Now goes up and down fine. Thanks for the suggestions?I?ll file them for next time.  Jim
