Has anyone attempted to use a tillerpilot on a C-16?  I stopped by West Marine last night to pick up a couple of things and on the clearance table there was a Simrad TP10 for $130.00 and was still in a sealed package.  I had not planned on installing a tiillerpilot but that price was hard to pass up.  Anyone know how well these will work on a smaller boat like the C-16?

Thanks,

Chad

Chad the only reason I won't use this device is I don't have enough battery power on my boat [1000 cca] to keep it running very long.

It will 'hunt' and wiggle the tiller way too much as things happen very quickly on small sail boats using up electrons like crazy. Find a mechanical means. I use a Forspar tiller minder and two cockpit combing pockets...see pics. skip.

Thanks for the info Skip,  I already have a tiller tamer that I was planning on installing, I had one of these on my Ranger 23 before I added a tiller pilot to that boat.  I couldn't resist the price for the TP-10 so I bought that.  I figure I will try it and see how it goes, if it doesn't work well I will either keep it as a spare for my other boat or I am sure if I listed it for $130 either here or on sailnet I don't think it would take too long to sell.  --Chad
